An exciting weekend of sport ahead but for me, this has to be top of the bill. The usual hype and posturing has been going on for weeks but I have to hand it to Tony Bellew at yesterdays press conference, he was totally in control of his emotions and is certainly edging the contest so far. That said, up until the first bell, the contest is being played out within the minds of these two great showmen. As the saying goes; ‘Most fights are won or lost before the first punch is thrown’. Whilst the build up to big publicised fights like this can become somewhat of a circus, I find it fascinating to watch the body language of fighters. I know from personal experience exactly what's going on in their heads. The negative thoughts masked by the bullish bravado, the personal insecurities that can emerge as you get closer to the fight and the fear that can totally consume you if you fail to trigger the positive emotions required to ensure you perform at your optimum level. Can Terry McElhinney call this one? No. Both Bellew and Haye are playing one hell of a game. My head says Haye whilst my heart says Bellew but maybe that's just sentimental scouse empathy.
